Please let me Introduce myself….

Hello Everyone: My name is Sherri-Ellen  T-D. & my feline companion was Nylablue “Sweet Feet”, the Bluepoint Birman/Siamese. We came from Multiply blog site…in fact I started on 360 back in 2005 when my  Bluepoint Siamese Mingflower was still alive…

Blogging is one of my passions & Nylablue caught ‘blogging fever’ too!!! She enjoyed blogging about all sorts of things!!! Trust me she wa a very funny feline! And she was a very courageous feline too…

Nylablue was a wondrous story unfolding. She was born sometime in 2001 & was the result of a puppy mill breeding scheme & she became a breeding Queen until she was 4+ yrs old. When she got sick she was thrown out on the streets & picked up by the local Shelter Operators & taken to Shelter. She went home that night with the Operator’s Sister but her story gets worse. She was bred again so the people could ‘afford’ her vaccinations & spaying. Trouble was the damage was done & Nylablue got very sick with Peridontel Disease & Chronic Cystitis & altho the people took her back to the Vet they refused treatment for her. The Shelter Operator contacted me telling me Nylablue was going to be euthanized as her Sister was pregnant. I had lost Mingflower 3 months prior to Kidney Disease (after 18 1/2 yrs together) & I put on my big blue cape & swooped down to rescue Nylablue!!!!  I had NO idea how sick she was & when I found out I decided to devote my time, energy & money to getting Nylablue well. Took almost 3 yrs to cure Cystitis & in ’09 she had remaining rotted teeth out & that ended Peridontel Disease. She contracted FHV (Herpes Virus) in early 2010 & I almost lost her then. The Vet & I worked to save her & she was well until mid 2013 when she was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (that came from the Cystitis) & Pancreatitis. She had 3 close calls with death since being diagnosed & developed Diabetes Nov. 2014 & unfortunately we could not get it under control so Nylablue was helped to Summerland Saturday, Nov. 22nd. She was so weary & ready to go & did not put up a fight.

B4 she left I asked  Nylablue if she would lead me to my next cat. She & Mingflower introduced me to ‘Purrince’ Siddhartha Henry Nov. 29th & as of Dec. 9th Siddhartha Henry joined The Purrfect Pad…we welcome everyone to continue the journey with my ‘littul man’  & I……

 Sincerely,

‘Purrince’ Siddhartha Henry & Sherri-Ellen’s Purrfect Pad =^,.^=

  • Oh Tom THAT is so cool!! To live int he house you were raised in! I get to go to my old neighborhood about 10 blocks away. (I have mobility issues so can’t wlak there & back). In the early 90’s when I started visiting OS (vacation) I used to go visit the woman who lived in ‘my’ house. She has passed on & the place looks pretty rough as it is apartments now. Even still when I drive by that place my heart always beats a bit quicker!!!

    • Mee-you Tom iss luvley to meet you an thee menagerie…
Mee iss Purrince Siddhartha an then there iss LadyMum (Sherri-Ellen). Wee iss both happy to meet all of youss’!

Purrince Siddhartha henry is my ‘new’ kittyboy…have had him just over 5 months. Teaching him how to blog 😉
          Sincerely, Sherri-Ellen & Siddhartha Henry 🙂 🙂

            • Unfortunately where I am living I can only have 1 pet Tom…so i do work with Feral cat group…I DO feed ferals that pass thru our neighborhood also.
Looking back on all my furbabies I have been VERY blessed!
Young Siddhartha Henry is a 30 year old dream come true…I have wanted a Burmese boy named Siddhartha for so long….
              And now he is here…;)
              Sherri-Ellen & the ‘littul Purrince’

                • You know Tom they ARE still a part of my gang!! Nylablue & Mingflower & all the furbabies are gone but they live in my memory. I have Nylablue & Mingflower’s ashes here with me & that is a comfort I can tell you.
Even the ferals I have fed over the years are a part of my gang…..they all have a place in my heart!

                    • Living large my friend!!! I always wanted to live in the country & have my own pet cemetary but I have lived in larger cities. So all my other 4 leggeds went to a Pet Crematorium in Guelph & were interred in the cemetary there. As I had Mingflower for 18 1/2 years I could not just send her off & not get her back…so I promised her a return trip. Nylablue was only with me for 8 1/2 yrs & was almost 14 when she died & the thought of her being down in the cemetary ‘alone’ made me so sad so I promised her I woudl bring her home also. They are on the coffee table. Siddhartha Henry rubs their boxes daily..I never told him to do that; he just did it on his own Tom!! Talk about amazing…cats truly ARE!

                    • LOL Tom oh yes we are Canadian! We actually live in Owen Sound…Guelph is a 2 hr drive away!
I did not realize you were Canadian too…very cool!!
Siddhartha Hnery is VERY intuitive & he is only 10 months old. I can imagine what he will be like in another year or so!!!!! LOL.
                      Sherri-Ellen 🙂

                    • Owen Sound was where I was raised by Grandparents & my Nanna made me promise to move back after she died…that was 19 yrs ago. I planned to be here for 5-10 yrs & then relocate, hahaha…the best laid planss Tom 😉
Thank you for the compliment about Siddhartha Henry. He is growing in leaps & bounds & has lost the kitten look…I can’t believe he is already 10 months old!! They grow up so fast, lol…

    • Hello Eileen I have wondered where you were for many months now. I was on my ABOUT page as we have a new follower so I was re-reading comments from the past & then clicked on your name & found your other blog!!!
It has been 4 months since Nylablue passed. I had to put her to sleep Nov. 22nd, 2014. She had developed Diabetes & coupled with the Bowel Disease it was too much for her. She wnet so peacefully.
I was not going to adopt until this Spring but thee Universe/G-D had other plans for me.
A week later I met Siddhartha Henry….I was not sure I was ready but I could not stop thinking about him. So Dec. 9th I welcomed him home & the rest is history. He is his own little mankat I can tell you; nothing like Nylablue, lol.
Thanks for the compliment on the blog. I wanted it to express the uniqueness of Purrince Siddhartha Henry 😉
      May blessings be yours always.
      Sincerely Sherri-Ellen xo

Nyla blue is such a beautiful kitty, I must admit that is the first thing that caught my eye to your blog, she is a great mascott I guess too! Nice to meet you and I look forward to future blog reads! – lea

    • Hello Lea~ Thank you for stopping by & for the compliment. I have been ‘owned by cats’ since I was 12 1/2 & am now 57….I tend to rescue the ones that need to be only cats in the home…..altho’ I still do cat rescue outside if the home when able to. 😉
Nylablue came with her wacky sense of humour & view of the world….she had an awful life before I found her. I promised her she would have a good life with me….
She is a striking cat & KNOWS it!!!! LOL.
A mascot; now that is a cool thought! My previous cat was like a child to me; Nylablue is far different..I like that word….thank you!!!
I am sure there will be many blogs in the future to read!!!!
Give Kirby a kiss from me! He is enchanting!
      Sherri-Ellen & Nylablue.
